The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Wins Box Office Again!


As of November 30, 2014, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 has grossed $225,693,000 in North America and $254,400,000 in other territories for a worldwide total of $480,093,000.

 The film had a worldwide opening of $273.8 million which is the sixteenth largest of all time, the largest opening of 2014 behind Transformers: Age of Extinction ($302.1 million), and the largest among The Hunger Games franchise. It reached a milestone of $200 million in 5 days $300 million in 8 days and $400 million in 10 days.

Penguins of Madagascar debuted at No. 2 with $25 million. Big Hero 6 ($18 million), Interstellar ($15.8 million), and Horrible Bosses 2 ($15.7 million) round out the top five.

Plot:
When Katniss destroys the games, she goes to District 13 after District 12 is destroyed. She meets President Coin who convinces her to be the symbol of rebellion, while trying to save Peeta from the Capitol.
