Pixels is an upcoming 2015 American 3D live-action/computer-animated comedy film produced by Columbia Pictures, 1492 Pictures and Happy Madison Productions.

Plot:
"When aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper has to call on his childhood best friend, '80s video game champion Jules Brenner, now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders to defeat the aliens and save the planet."
The screenplay is written by Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling and a screen story penned by Patrick Jean, Herlihy and Adam Sandler is based on Jean's 2010 Internet short film of the same name. The film stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Monaghan, Brian Cox, Ashley Benson, and Jane Krakowski. The film is scheduled for a July 24, 2015 release.
